A Dibrugarh-bound Indigo flight, with Union Minister Rameswar Teli and two BJP MLAs on board, made an unplanned emergency landing at Guwahati airport in Assam on Sunday morning due to a technical malfunction.
Union Minister Rameswar Teli confirmed over the phone that he, along with BJP MLAs Prasanta Phukan and Terash Gowalla, were safe at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati following the flight’s unexpected landing.
“I have three meetings scheduled today in Duliajan, Tingkhong, and Tinsukia. The flight was airborne for about 15 to 20 minutes, attempted a landing at Dibrugarh airport before returning to Guwahati airport for an emergency landing. We were informed that the flight will not resume its journey,” said Teli, who serves as the Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas.
