In the early hours of Wednesday, a low density earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 affected areas of the adjacent city and Guwahati.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake’s epicentre was in Kamrup, and the first tremors were felt at 3:59 am.
“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.2, Occurred on 08-03-2023, 03:59:08 IST, Lat: 26.23 & Long: 91.44, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Kamrup, Assam, India,” NCS stated in a Twitter post.

Two low intensity earthquakes that occurred last month shook two Northeastern states.
First, in the morning hours of Manipur, a 3.2 magnitude earthquake rocked Noney. In the early hours of Tuesday, a 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Tura in Meghalaya after five hours.
