Guwahati: All types of unmanned aerial vehicles to be prohibited on April 14

On April 14, all types of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) were banned in the airspace along the border of Kamrup district ahead of PM Modi’s visit.

The Kamrup district deputy commissioner imposes the ban under Section 144 of the Indian Code of Criminal Procedure.

In view of the arrival of a special protection person from the Government of India as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences at Changsari on April 14, the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup District, Kirti Jalli, has imposed a ban on all types of aerial vehicles under Section 144 of the Indian Airspace within the boundaries of Kamrup district.

The order asked the Kamrup district superintendent of police to take immediate action against violators of the ban.
