Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma attended a review meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of flood-affected districts of the state through a video conference to review the flood situation.
Chief Minister Dr. Sarma informed the decision to pay Rs 3,800 to families in shelters or such shelter-like environments and announced Rs 4 lakh each for those who died in flood this year.
He directed the district commissioners to send the information and evidence to the Chief Minister’s office for expeditious disbursement of Rs 4 lakh to the flood victims.
He also directed the task forces formed by districts to go to the Circle Officers’ offices after July 20 and prepare a list of how many livestock died, drowned, or other property was damaged in each household.
It is worth mentioning that many areas of Assam still have submerged in water. Around 31 Lacks people were affected, and more than 150 people lost their lives during the flood.
