Actor Bhumi Pednekar has joined relief efforts in flood-affected areas of Assam, visiting inundated villages and distributing essential supplies to families impacted by the recent floods.
Bhumi travelled to the state with the Bharat Disaster Relief Foundation (BDRF) and shared glimpses of her visit on social media. In one of the videos reposted by the actor, she is seen walking through knee-deep floodwaters to reach a hut and deliver relief to affected residents. The accompanying caption read, "When compassion meets action, hope reaches farther. Thank you Bhumi for standing with the people of Assam."
Sharing photographs from her visit, Bhumi highlighted the challenges faced by flood-affected communities. In one post featuring her interaction with villagers, she wrote, "Every flooded village reminds us that recovery doesn't begin when the rain stops, but when the help arrives."
The actor also shared another video showing her travelling by boat to reach a house surrounded by floodwaters. She noted that although floodwaters have receded in some areas, several villages remain accessible only by boat, underscoring the continuing challenges faced by residents.
Additional videos shared by Bhumi showed her distributing relief materials to villagers and spending time interacting with affected families. She was also seen engaging with local residents and sharing light-hearted moments with them during the relief visit.
Bhumi's visit comes amid ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts in Assam, where several areas continue to recover from widespread flooding.
