An Assamese teenager has brought glory to the state by emerging as the top scorer in the CBSE Class 10 examinations in the South India region and securing the second-highest marks across the country. Rishi Gogoi, currently residing in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, has become well-known among academic and educational circles across all five southern states of India.
According to the ETV Bharat report, a student of Loyola School in Thiruvananthapuram, Rishi, scored a perfect 100 out of 100 in Science, Mathematics, Computer Applications, and English, and secured 98 in Social Science, achieving an outstanding overall percentage of 99.80%.
In an interview, Rishi Gogoi said, “I want to thank my parents and teachers for their constant support. I gave my best effort. Besides studying, I also enjoyed cycling, playing basketball, listening to music, and playing the guitar in my leisure time.”
Rishi aspires to become an aerospace engineer in the future and wishes to pursue robotics science as well.
Rishi’s achievement has brought immense joy to his family. His mother, Mitali Das Gogoi, and father, Dr. Mukund Madhav Gogoi, expressed their pride and happiness. Dr. Gogoi, originally from Khanamukh, Jorhat, Assam, is a senior scientist at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, under ISRO, in Thiruvananthapuram. A brilliant academic himself, he completed his post-graduation and Ph.D. in Physics from Dibrugarh University before joining ISRO.
Dr. Mukund Gogoi said, “We are extremely proud of Rishi’s achievement. His hard work has paid off. Whatever path he chooses for his future, we as parents will always be there to support him.”
Rishi Gogoi’s exceptional success has not only made his family and school proud but also brought recognition to Assam on a national scale, proving once again that dedication and perseverance can make a student from any part of India shine brightly on the national academic stage.
