On 24th Morning, 7 people were hit by a speeding truck which killed five people and severely injured two in Assam’s Sipajhar area of Darang District.
The incident occurred at Sipajhar’s College Chowk, where the seven people were doing their morning walk. Three people died on the spot, and two died on the way to the hospital. Two were severely injured and have been admitted to GMCH.
The deceased have been identified as Jaimati Bora, Jintumoni Ahmed, Indadul Hoque, Sangita Devi, and Rekib Ali. Jintumoni Ahmed, Indadul Hoque and Rekib Ali hailed from Milanpur area of Sipajhar.
The driver and handyman of the truck have fled from the scene.
