On Thursday, the large-scale poppy plantation in Kaimai village Hill Ranges in the Tousem Sub Division of Tamenglong District in Manipur was destroyed by the Srikona Battalion of Headquarter 21 Sector Assam Rifles under the supervision of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East).

The Srikona Battalion of the Assam Rifles, the Manipur police from the Tousem Police Station, and the Forest Department all worked together to stop the widespread growing of poppies in the hill ranges of Kaimai village after hearing about it.

In the Tousem Subdivision’s Kaimai village hill range, the party destroyed roughly 4.2 lakh poppy plants that had been planted on about 21 acres of forest land and were valued at about Rs 1.03 crore. The State Police are looking into more information.
