Assam Public Service Commission Announces 2023 Prelim Exam Results

APSC CCE 2022

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has declared the highly anticipated results for the Combined Competitive Examination (Preliminary) 2023. The exam, conducted in March across 116 venues in 32 districts, saw a high turnout with 67,251 candidates vying for 235 coveted positions.

Candidates can now access the results PDF on the official APSC website. The positions contested included Assam Civil Service (ACS), Assam Police Service (APS), Labour Officer, District Transport Officer (DTO), Block Development Officer (BDO), Assam Finance Service, Co-operative Education Officer, Inspector of Taxes, and Inspector of Labour, among others.

Out of the initial pool, 2,898 candidates qualified for the Mains examination. This includes 719 women candidates who qualified for positions reserved for them. Additionally, 106 candidates from the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category and 102 Ex-servicemen successfully cleared the Prelims.

This year marks a significant step towards inclusivity, with one position each in ACS and APS being reserved for the Moran and Matak communities, respectively. These reserved positions saw 1 candidate each qualify for the Mains.

The APSC implemented a new system for the 2024 Prelims, providing candidates with Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets with carbon copies. The Mains examination, scheduled for July this year, will feature question papers set in both English and Assamese, with candidates having the option to answer in Assamese.
