The government of Assam has announced 269 open positions for Police Constables across the state. The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) released eligibility and application details on January 25.
Candidates can submit their applications between February 1 and February 15, 2024 through the SLPRB’s official website.

Of the open positions, 186 vacancies are reserved for male candidates while 78 positions are women-only. The largest number of openings (82 total) are for unreserved candidates, followed by tribal groups and other backward classes. Applicants must be between 18-40 years old as of January 2024 to qualify.
Required eligibility is basic – candidates should have passed year 10 equivalent examinations from any recognized education board in the country.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-
The Candidate must satisfy the following criteria.:-
a) Nationality- Candidates must be Indian Citizen, permanent resident of Assam.
b) Candidates must register his/ her name with a local Employment Exchange in
Assam.
c) Candidates must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.
d) Age: 18 to 40 years as on 01-01-2024 (i.e. Candidate must be born on or before
01.01.2006 and on or after 01.01.1984).

Relaxations :Upper age limit will be relaxed for:
(i) 5 (five) years in respect of Candidates belonging to SC, ST (P) and ST (H).
(ii) 3 (three) years in respect of Candidates belonging to OBC/MOBC.
(iii) 2 (two) years additionally in respect of Candidates belonging to Ex-Servicemen
