On Monday, a police officer from Tinsukia Police Station shot himself in the head with his service pistol. The police officer was identified as Dinakanta Sonowal. He was immediately rushed to the hospital in critical condition but declared dead. As per the doctor's report, the bullet passes through his head. The police officer was in charge of the traffic section. As per the reports, Sonowal didn’t leave any suicide notes behind. It is still unclear why he committed suicide. Investigation underway. A few days back, ASI Gour Bidhu Singh shot himself in the head using his service pistol while sitting on his desk inside Silchar Sadar police station.
