Assam: Majuli Police arrested controversial Sub Inspector Junmoni Rabha

Majuli police, on June 4, Saturday, arrested a sub-inspector of Assam police, Junmoni Rabha, over charges of Money Laundering. SI Rabha was working at Sulung police station in Kaliabor. 

According to inputs, seven FIRs were lodged against Junmoni Rabha alleging corruption at a police station in the Majuli district. The charges also reportedly include three non-bailable charges.

It is reported that Ajit Bora and Ram Avatar Sarma filed complaints against Rana Pagag and SI Junmoni Rabha. Based on the complaints, Junmoni was interrogated by Majuli police since Thursday. Majuli superintendent of police Gautam Bora himself interrogated Junmoni for the last three days.

As per the information received, Junmoni Rabha’s Canara bank account has been credited with Rs 11,33,174, and similarly, there are reports of deposits of Rs 9,14,269 in her axis bank account.

Recently, Junmoni arrested her fiancé over fraud charges. Junmoni’s fiancé Rana Pagag has been arrested for allegedly stoking lakhs of rupees in the name of the CSR act by falsely calling him an ONGC officer.
