The Assam government has initiated the process to construct another flyover in Guwahati city with the Public Works Department (PWD) recently floating tenders for the Rs 321 crore project.
The proposed structure slated to come up at Cycle Factory in Kalapahar will provide signal-free connectivity up to Lal Ganesh Market on Guwahati-Garbhanga highway.
The 1.3 km elevated corridor has been planned for completion within 30 months as per official records. Bids invited are scheduled for finalization before Lok Sabha election code kicks in.
This flyover forms part of efforts to streamline traffic congestion under the CM’s special focus on upgrading road infrastructure in main city hub.
In January, Himanta Biswa Sarma already inaugurated construction work for Dighalipukhuri-Noonmati overhead stretch as part of the mission to enhance mobility.
