The Government of Assam has established an emergency helpline service for students from the state who are pursuing education in other parts of India, according to an official notice issued on May 10, 2025.

The notice, released by the Office of the Resident Commissioner at Assam Bhawan in New Delhi, provides multiple contact numbers that will be available 24/7 to address any assistance needs that students may encounter while studying away from home.
“This is to inform all the students hailing from Assam, studying in different parts of India, that they may contact the following telephone numbers of Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, in case of any help/assistance,” reads the official communication signed by the Resident Commissioner.
The emergency contacts provided include Shri Ranadip Kumar Dam, ACS, Joint Secretary, GAD & OSD, Assam Bhawan (9874355365) and Shri Vinod Kalita, House Manager, Assam Bhawan (8920970507). Additionally, a dedicated Emergency Student Helpline Number (011-23010288, 26877111) has been established for immediate assistance.
The helpline is expected to provide various forms of assistance, including guidance during emergencies, help with administrative issues, and support during crisis situations. The service could prove particularly valuable for first-time students living away from home who might face challenges adjusting to new environments.
