Assam Floods: Aamir Khan came forward to help Assam victims, donated 25 lakh rupees

Bollywood star Aamir Khan has recently extended a helping hand to the CM Relief Fund of Assam. Presently the state of Assam is going through one of the biggest crises due to the devastating floods this year. More than 21 lakh people have come into trouble due to this flood. In such a situation, many Indian philanthropists are coming to help the people there.

With their homes and farms submerged in flood waters, many families in Assam have no option but to risk conflict with wildlife in the elephant corridor in the Khulahat forest of Nellie. After the arrival of this flood, people are not only without shelters but are also suffering from a lack of water and hunger. This disaster has become bigger than ever, and the people living there will also be caught in a financial crisis.

Recently, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan came forward to help the people of Assam, and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has mentioned this on his social media handle. He shared a gratitude note dedicated to the star with everyone. The CM wrote, “Eminent Bollywood actor Aamir Khan extended his helping hand to the flood-affected people of our state by making a generous contribution of Rs 25 lakh to the CM Relief Fund. My heartfelt gratitude for their concern and act of generosity.”

Due to incessant rains in Assam, the situation is getting worse due to floods. Around 42,28,157 lakh people are affected by the floods. At the same time, 71 people have lost their lives due to floods. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, 9 people have died in the floods in the last 24 hours, while 5,137 villages have come under the grip of floods. Personnel from the Indian Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES), and Assam Police, besides volunteers, are assisting the district administration in rescue and relief operations.
