The Government of Assam’s Department of School Education has extended the deadline for submission of online applications for teacher transfers across the state. According to a recent notification issued by the department, eligible teachers now have until midnight of May 20, 2025, to submit their transfer requests through the official portal.
The extension follows earlier Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) dated March 17, 2025, and a subsequent notification (No. E-557908/198) issued on April 29, 2025, regarding the online application process for teacher transfers under the Directorate of Elementary, Secondary, and Samagra Shiksha, Assam.
“Teachers seeking single or mutual transfers must apply exclusively through the online portal at www.hrmsassam.in by the extended deadline,” said Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu. “No offline applications will be considered for processing any transfer requests.”

The notification specifies that the transfer process will be conducted in accordance with “The Assam Elementary and Secondary School Teachers’ (Regulation of Posting and Transfer) Act, 2020” and “The Assam Elementary and Secondary School Teachers (Regulation of Posting and Transfer) Rules, 2022,” along with SOPs and notifications issued periodically on teacher transfers.
This extension provides additional time for eligible teachers who may have missed the original deadline to complete their applications through the HRMS portal of the Assam government.
