According to a notice, APDCL has increased its electricity tariffs. APDCL has increased the amount by 30 paise per unit. However, the notice issued on December 9 was not made public by the department. According to the notice, customers will have to pay the increased fees from December this month.
The notice mentioned that in sensitivity to ordinary electricity consumers, it has been decided to levy an increased tariff of 30 paise per unit on Fuel and Power Purchase Price Adjustment (FPPA) dated November 22 from December.

To address this issue, APDCL MD Rakesh Kumar told a local media outlet, “We are ready to solve the consumers’ problems. Be it a billing or smart meter issue, contact your nearest subdivision, division or circle office or dial our helpline number 1912 and lodge your grievance. We will check and rectify all complaints. If we find any excess billing, we will adjust it in the next month’s bill. If we find any defective smart meters, we will replace them immediately with new ones free of cost.”
