Assam CM Reviews Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Women Entrepreneur Scheme With DCs

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday held a video conference meeting with all District Commissioners to review the progress of Centre’s Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) and the state-level Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan for women entrepreneurs.

Over 29 lakh citizens have benefited from 2,358 VBSY meetings conducted till January 9th, CM Sarma stated. Key highlights include 5 lakh health camps, 4 lakh TB screenings, 60,000 Ayushman cards distributed and 33,000 Ujjwala connections given.

Sarma asked DCs to take the schemes closer to people under the outreach program started by PM Modi.

The CM also took stock of his ambitious initiative to provide Rs 10,000 seed money to Self Help Group women for starting enterprises. He directed officials to ensure seamless implementation.

Moreover, the meeting discussed expediting distribution of new ration cards to identified beneficiaries in every district. Ministers would participate in public events to formally launch the program.

Food Minister Ranjeet Dass, Chief Secretary Paban Borthakur among senior bureaucrats also attended the review.

The state government aims to achieve maximum coverage of all key central and state schemes through saturation drives under the Viksit Bharat campaign.
