The Assam Council of Ministers has decided to undertake a collective visit to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya to offer prayers next month following its grand inaugural today.
The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday as the temple’s consecration ceremony took place in presence of PM Modi.
Minister Jayantamallah Baruah announced that all state cabinet members will together travel to Ayodhya on February 22nd to take darshan of Ram Lalla at the recently opened shrine.
The visit aims to pay respects on behalf of Assam’s people after the historic ‘bhoomi pujan’ and completion of temple construction at the disputed site.
The ministers extended gratitude to the Prime Minister’s efforts in ensuring fruition of the long-pending Ram Janmabhoomi temple through judicial resolution and communal concord.
