Three people, including a child, died in an attack by a wild elephant in Assam. The incident happened in Kurang village near Lakhipur on the Assam-Meghalaya border on Monday morning.

As per the reports, A forest department official said that a group of wild elephants came from the hilly areas of Meghalaya in search of food. At that time, the three people died in front of them. Locals said that groups of wild elephants often attack and damage houses in the area.

Last month, a young man was attacked by a wild elephant in Guwahati’s Amchang, Jorabat area. Last May, three people, including two women, were killed in a wild elephant attack in Goalpara district.
