On Friday, Assam Govt and IIT Guwahati signed an MOU to establish a state-of-the-art integrated super specialty hospital at the IIT Guwahati campus. For this project, the Government of Assam has sanctioned Rs. 546 crore.
This hospital and research project will greatly strengthen the medical education and research landscape in the North East including Assam.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma added, “I am pleased to attend the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Assam and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) today for the establishment of a state-of-the-art integrated super specialty of the hospital at IIT Guwahati campus.”
He also added that implementing this hospital and research project will greatly strengthen the medical education and research landscape in the North East, including Assam. The Government of Assam has sanctioned a total of Rs. 546 crore for the project.
Union Minister for Education and Skill Development Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Ministers of State Shri Rameshwar Teli, Dr. Subhash Sarkar, Shri Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Dr. Ronoj Pegu, Shri Keshav Mahanta, Minister of Technology Shri KL Bhutia and several dignitaries were also present at the event.
