When a father and son who were linked to the PMAY recipient family attempted to intervene on their behalf, the other family attacked them with sharp weapons, resulting in the instantaneous deaths of the 57-year-old dad and his 26-year-old son.

According to him, the vengeful family members of the person who passed away attacked the other family and set their house on fire in an act of retaliation, which resulted in the death of a woman who was 70 years old.

The officer said that seven more people were hurt by the attack and the fire that happened after it.

A significant number of law enforcement officers were dispatched to the area after the arrival of the Superintendent of Police for Barpeta, Amitava Sinha. Their mission was to put a stop to any additional acts of violence.

While the injured were being cared for in a hospital in the area, the bodies were sent to the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) in Barpeta for a post-mortem examination.
