On Friday morning, an accident occurred at the New Saraighat pool over the Brahmaputra. A speeding Dupmer (AS25EC3643) heading towards Amingaon collided from behind with another dumper truck (AS01HC4588). The collision was so severe that the front of the dumper gets destroyed, and the driver, Shafiq Ali (27) stuck inside the truck. Locals tried to get the driver out of the cabin, but they were not able to pull him out of the wracked cabin. After an hour-long effort, fire and emergency services personnel pulled the driver out. The driver was seriously injured in the accident. The injured driver was rushed to the hospital.
