The much-anticipated Inter-Institution T20 Cricket Tournament, organized by the Assam Cricket Association (ACA), commenced on Saturday. Set to thrill cricket fans until June 1, matches are scheduled across three popular venues – the Main and Annex Grounds at the ACA Stadium and the Amingaon Cricket Ground.
As many as 24 teams have entered the competition, divided into four groups with six teams each. Adding to the tournament’s professional ambience and ensuring standardized gameplay, ACA confirmed that all matches would follow the playing conditions prescribed by the BCCI.
Moreover, the ACA has set the stakes high by offering handsome cash prizes. The tournament’s triumphant champions can look forward to a cash award of ₹5 lakh, while the second-place team will walk away with a commendable ₹2.5 lakh. Each of the semifinalists is also set to receive ₹1.5 lakh, ensuring their hard-fought journey to the top four is well rewarded.
The tournament has also arranged a slew of individual awards to honor exceptional performances. The best batsman, bowler, and fielder will each receive ₹50,000 for their sterling contributions. The Player of the Tournament stands to win a handsome prize of ₹1 lakh, and the Player of the Match of the final game will also be awarded ₹50,000.
The ACA, in conjunction with its affiliated institutions, extends its best wishes to all teams. The association hopes that the tournament will serve as a valuable platform for emerging talents to showcase their skills and take a step forward in their cricketing careers.
