Today at 8:03 AM IST, the Sonitpur area of Assam was affected by a significant earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale, according to official authorities.
The earthquake’s epicentre, which had a depth of around 15 kilometres, was situated between latitudes 26.68 N and 92.35 E. Following a string of previous tremors in the area, this seismic event has increased local officials’ level of awareness.
